As the IT Administrator, you will provide administration for all aspects of infrastructure development; maintenance and operations including systems administration, network administration telecommunications (voice, data, and video) database administration, messaging, and server-side technologies including virtualization.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or information technology required; master’s degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
5+ years experience with the following:
- PC configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- System administration
- Microsoft Windows Server
- Microsoft ILS
- Microsoft Exchange
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Microsoft SharePoint
- Network administration (LAN/WAN, Wireless, VPN)
- NAS/SAN technologies
- Antivirus Software
- Dell & Lenovo experience preferred
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Leverage business and IT resources to implement and maintain systems that support office/company strategies and goals
- Promote timely and effective communications at all levels
- Deliver assigned projects and tasks on time and within budget
- Develop policies, guidelines, and processes to facilitate the flow of work and information through the group and with internal business customers and clients
- Maintain & troubleshoot server tape and backup
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Strong process orientation including ability to recognize, develop, and improve process flows
- Strong technical knowledge of network protocols and standards and implementation
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Operating Systems and back office applications
BASIC SUMMARY OF POSITION
- First responder for resolving alerts
- Notified of alerts by command center or helpdesk and performs procedures for assessing alerts
- Apply advanced skills to perform routine and non-routine tasks
- Has detailed knowledge of the systems and ability to troubleshoot alerts not responding to pre-defined scripts
- Escalates issues to manager if the existing documentation proves inadequate for resolving the alert within the defined timeframes
- Ensure all issues are communicated promptly and accurately to the appropriate people
- Work together with other department personnel as a team to ensure all customers, both external and internal has all of their needs met
- Creation of documentation for procedures with Technical Operations Support
- Review and provide reports on existing procedures to Technical Operations teams, helping to identify any outdated or incomplete operations procedures
- Adapts procedures, process and techniques to accomplish the requirements of the position
- Pro-active action against data network element requiring attention, to include trouble and change ticket generation, escalation and submission of outage notifications
- Track, analyze and report on incidents and outage conditions
- Assist with projects as assigned
- Any other assigned tasks required to support the success of Technical Operations Support
